  • Neolithic to Roman Period: The museum’s artifacts cover the development of civilization on Cyprus from the 9th millennium BCE to the end of the Roman period. These finds result from systematic and rescue excavations conducted by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus and foreign archaeological missions in Limassol and its surroundings.

  • Pygmy Elephant and Hippopotamus: Notable exhibits include remains from the Pre-Neolithic site of Akrotiri-Aetokremmos, such as a pygmy elephant and pygmy hippopotamus.

  • Late Bronze Age: Objects from sites like Chillourokampos, Sotira, and Erimi-Pampoula showcase Cyprus’ rich history during this period.

  • Mycenaean Influence: The museum displays both locally produced vessels and imported Mycenaean vessels, highlighting commercial contacts and Aegean settlers’ influence.

  • Eastern Influences: Terracottas, a Hathor freestanding pillar, and a limestone statue of the Egyptian god Bes reveal strong eastern artistic elements.
